Where if just ONE MORE thing gets added to your calendar you are just going to scream?!?!? And these are all good things too. Not like some unpleasant Doctors appointment or anything like that.
I just CAN'T believe how packed our calendar is. And next week is Thanksgiving!! And yes, I did get those decorations up too. I don't have any pictures because Rob has my camera on a business trip right now. We'll tell you all about that when he returns.
For now, I think I'll just go curl up in the corner in the fetal position, rock back and forth and suck my thumb until the next thing comes up that I have to do.

Thankful Thursdays
There is SO much to be thankful for in our family.
I am thankful for:
Veterans: There are SO many in our family. Words can never express our gratitude for their service.
Family: Our baby girl coming home!
Chocolate: So thankful that others like our chocolate an support our business by purchasing our chocolate. Here's a display at Chocolopolis:
Being up there with some of the "big boys of chocolate" is truly an honor.

Thankful Thursdays
I am thankful for:
VETERANS: I had the privilege to attend an early Veteran's Day assembly at my son's middle school. To be honest, my first reason for going was to just be there for my son while he played in the band. But I came away with SO much more. These are 10 amazing heroes. Each one of the are so humble!
This one in particular. I wish I could remember his name but he is a WW II veteran that was captured by the Nazi's, was taken to a concentration camp and survived. WOW!! I wish there had been time to hear more of his story.
NATURE:While driving into Bellingham to run some errands I couldn't get over how beautiful a place we live. Mt. Baker was just beautiful and the clouds and sky, simply amazing. These past few days of sunshine have helped lift my spirit.
HEALTH: Three years ago I posted about a great Dr. appointment here.
I was told to return 3 years later. Well, here we are ~ 3 years later. I'm still doing pretty good! There is only one concern with the blood test that I took recently ~ my morning fasting glucose is above 90, which is the recommended number it should be. Me? I was at 117. So my Dr. wants me to take my glucose numbers every once in a while to see just what is going on. I am thankful that these little puppies have come so far in the past 14 years.

Our Halloween
I seriously never got into the Halloween "spirit". But I WILL put up our fall/thanksgiving decorations. Soon!! I promise!! In the meantime, we had a fun Halloween. We attended a WWU Orchestra concert. It was a fundraiser to support the music library. The music library that WWU admin. want to close down due to budget cuts. But that's an entirely a different story.
This was the first time that I've seen the WWU orchestra perform, let alone seeing Amber play her contra bassoon. Would you just take a LOOK at this BIG BAD BOY:

Yes, "concert dress" was a costume! You didn't know that Mrs. Potts could play the contra bassoon?!

And Tigger plays the trombone, a jedi plays the cello, Mickey Mouse was the concert master and a vampire was the conductor (Prof. Dr. Shaw). It was so much fun!! Video will be posted later.
And this is what happens when you bring out the costume boxes.

One little boy trying with all his might to get his most favorite costume to fit again.
Then the silly boy comes out.

Mrs. Potts learned some new sweet skills!

Election Season
Being able to vote is a privileged. BUT..... do we HAVE to be bombarded with this?

This is just ONE day in my mail box! ONE DAY!! And 12 fliers to "vote for me", "so and so did this", "so and so did that" and all from different people and different party affiliations. UGH!!! Enough is enough!! Luckily I haven't been bombarded with phone calls like some of my friends have. Only one so far and I'm so glad I have caller id as it came up as "telemarketer". You just have to love the "personal" messages recorded by people (this one was our County Executive) telling you they endorse "this person" and to vote for them. Ummm, HELLO?!?! I'm not even registered with your party affiliation. What makes you think I am going to vote for this person. I haven't voted for her since I've lived here!!
I'm ready for Nov. 2nd to get here ~ for many reasons. This just being one of them. Give me my mailbox back!

Thankful Thursdays
I am thankful for:
The safety and the return of this boy:

It took a major toll on us (more Robert then us) to make this trip home for leave from Iraq. He was literally stuck in Kuwait for 11 unplanned hours due to just ONE person. I don't know the entire story but apparently a soldier from a unit based in Afghanistan, for whatever reason, tried to "run" and go awol. So no Robert at the airport yesterday was very difficult. Not knowing what was going on or even hearing a peep out of him was really difficult for us. Even today there were delays after delays. But sooooo thankful he's in his home and loving on his sweet baby girl.
OUR CHOCOLATE BUSINESS:
We had the "official" launch last Saturday. It was extremely successful. I'm so proud of Rob and all his hard work. Our chocolate is now in 2 stores in Washington. Chocolate Necessities in Bellingham and Chocolopolis is Seattle. And we're waiting to hear from a store in Portland. Things are growing and we are so blessed.
MY BED:
And I'm going to go hunker down in it right now!!

Just Not Feeling It...
Halloween that is!!! I don't even have my Fall decorations up yet. I know we've been busy (and I'll post about that next) but I'm just feeling a bit "not yet" about Halloween. Maybe it's because we're not going all out on costumes or dishing out candy this year. I'm not sure. But right now, this is what my decorations look like:

Waiting patiently for me to retrieve them from their boxes!

Thankful Thursdays
Okay, this past week went faster then the previous week. That's not supposed to happen!! But there is sooooo much to be thankful for, so let's get started.
I am thankful for:
CHOCOLATE: See I told you this one would come up often. The reason the week has gone by so quickly is because we are getting ready to launch our new "hobby" business on Saturday at the Northwest Chocolate Festival. These past few weeks have been a flurry of activity.
LAUGHTER: And websites that just make me chuckle and shake my head. Gotta love Cake Wrecks!
FAMILY TIME: And the traditions that go with that. We had some time this week to make our traditional halloween sugar cookies. It's always fun!!
