Lizzie's Home now!!!
All is well and Elizabeth was able to come home this afternoon. Her bilirubin count came down to 14! Hooray!!!!
A Quick Lizzie Update
Little Elizabeth was re-admitted to the hospital for jaundice yesterday afternoon. Her bilirubin count was up to 18 and she was dehydrated. She's now on an IV to get some fluids as well as drinking some formula. And of course, she's "tanning" under those lights :O) Everyone's hoping she'll get to go home today or tomorrow.

Look at all this hair!!!!
I just LOVE the fuzzy hair. Reminds me of our Little Amber. Elizabeth is just SO pretty. But I'm just a little biased, you think?!
Tired but happy. And Lizzie already has him wrapped around her long, little fingers.

Thanks Kathleen!!!
So any of you who know Kathleen Heezen know that she makes the cutest holiday goodies EVER!!! Today after our luncheon, she gave each one of us one of these:
An Orange Slice Pumpkin! These would make the cutest classroom yummies! The hint she gave us was to use a measuring cup and place your plastic wrap inside the cup, then the slices and wrap it while it's still in the cup. The green stem is floral tape. I think I will be stealing this idea ~ FOR SURE!!!

What a week!!!
It's not that we were super packed with things to do. I just seemed that every time we went to do something a problem or issue came up. UGH!!! Just "people" being ridiculous and not self functioning. You know? Just "needy" when they really can and SHOULD do something for themselves! We also had a friend whose Father passed away as well as another friend that we've worked with at Church pass away. I guess I just can't say it enough ~ treasure every moment you have with your family and friends.
By the time Saturday rolled around we were ready to just get away from the phone. So we just blew off cleaning the house and went up to Nooksack Falls since the weather was perfect. On the way out of Lynden we saw this sweet little thing walking on Grover St.

I've heard from some of my neighbors that they've actually seen this doe wandering in OUR neighborhood back in the open space. How fun is that?! I sure hope she finds her home and doesn't get hit by a car.
Then the drive to the falls was absolutely breath taking. And really very relaxing.

And the scenery at the falls truly makes you appreciate God's creations.

And don't you just LOVE moss covered tree stumps?!

And a Robert & Jessica FYI - she is dialiated to 3 cm and almost 100% effaced! Do you think we'll have a grandbaby here VERY soon? I know Jessica hopes so!

Treasure Life Because...
.... it can be gone without notice. We just learned today that a friend and Church youth leader of Tabitha's, Kathi Eliason, suddenly passed away. She suffered a cerebral aneurysm. Kathi was a wonderful, happy person and loved the youth of the Church with all her heart. I know she touched Tabitha's life and made a difference for her.
So always BE NICE, BE KIND, LOVE EACH OTHER and EXPRESS APPRECIATION TO EACH OTHER. Because you really never know when you or someone will be gone.

From Frustrated to Satisfied
Ever have a few days in a row where nothing goes the right way? Or you think they are and then it goes south on you ~ all at once? By last night and even until this morning I was ready to tell Bellingham Chrysler to go do this!!!
(Thanks for the photo Scot!)
Okay, let me back up to Sunday night. It's a dark, windy and rainy night. Tabitha calls to let us know she's on her way home (it's about 9:45). Then about 5 minutes later we get another call from her. The ABS light just came on. We questioned her and then told her to drive like she's in snow leaving plenty of breaking room and to just slow the speed down. The roads were slick. 10 minutes later another phone call and she's in tears. Not only was the ABS light on but the regular brake light is on and she just came around the corner of Guide Meridian and Main street and the car wouldn't stop or slow down. The brakes were tremendously hard to push. Angels were watching over our little angel and there literally was no on coming traffic and no accident. So she pulled into the parking lot of a church and waited for us. We had to smile because Tabitha said that when she saw us driving down the street toward her the scene from Princess Diaries (where Joseph rescues the princess in her stalled Mustang)popped into her head, complete with the cavalry music.
After taking the van into Lynden Service Center (LSC) and $150 later for diagnosis, it was discovered that the ABS Power Motor Assembly had failed. YEP!!! Sounds expensive doesn't it?! Well, prayers of all prayers that particular part was under recall. We never received that notice! So off to the dealer. Here's where the snag comes in. LSC, in their technically trained manner made a temporary fix on the pump by hitting it with a hammer and kicking it back into working. To make this already long post shorter, let's just say that Bellingham Chrysler was jerking us around BIG TIME. They told me yesterday morning that they would fix the pump BUT... there were 2 other problems that needed to be fixed to the tune of $800! NOT!!! We love "Ruby" but her time is coming to an end. I was then told that the van would be finished by the end of the day. Well, it wasn't! By the end of the day they hadn't even started on it. WHY? And I quote "We can't replace the pump unless it it IN failure mode or we will not get reimbursed for our parts and labor". HELLO!!!?!?!?!!! Hummm, let's risk an accident again, shall we? OIY!!! So after letting them know that IF there was an accident their and Chrysler's rear ends would be in a sling if this was not fixed. It's under a RECALL for crying out loud! I had documentation from LSC that this would fail again! Have you ever prayed for your brakes to fail? Not us either. But that is what we did. While the dealer still had the van and trying the make the pump fail ~ we prayed that they would fail. AND THEY DID!!!!! Happy dance from us. And Bellingham Chrysler replaced the assembly unit. "Ruby" is back in business getting Tabitha to work and school.
Other things have gone wrong in the past few days that I won't bore you with but all things are slowly working out and getting better. Now to end this massively long post with the only picture I could find of Tabitha driving a "car". I think she's just too adorable here. But I am her Mom :O)
