Since we were detained last week going to get our tree (because of the rain) we were determined to get it this Saturday!

David (I think he looks a lot like Robert in this picture) was a bit sad that we didn't go out to our usual place, Fullner Tree Farm to cut down our tree. He was so looking forward to helping this year. But since it had been raining pretty hard all morning, we knew that it would be smushy walking around.

So we just went to our local nursery here in Lynden!

Ruby has carried home many a Christmas tree for us.
Once we got it set up we had to let it dry out before we start putting the lights and ornaments on. I'll make sure to show a picture when we're all done. By then it was time to eat some dinner and get ready for Amber's 1st vocal recital.

She did such a good job! This was the first time we've worked with this particular pianist and he was very impressed with the maturity of Amber's voice. It's always nice to get additional input. He was great to work with.
As you can tell it was a busy, but a very good Saturday.

Awww I wish I could have been there for the recital. I love going to her recitals.
I bet she did a beautiful job.
I can't wait to see what your tree looks like! Amber looks all grown up singing at her recital!
I bet your house smells amazing! Way to go Amber!
Your van with the tree loaded atop looks like a little Christmas story book! Glad DD did well! I'm blog hopping a bit this AM!
She does have a beautiful voice. I hope she sings for us soon at church as well. I love what she wore to the recital. It looks great on her.
Oh I can almost SMELL your tree now! We've been meaning to get a live one for weeks now -- it's the smell of Christmas. Enjoy your lovely tree!
