Now we wait!
Yep! It's coming to a city near us!!!! So today is the last day to get our order in for the "lottery" on event tickets. After the initial shock of the cost and dissappointment that we really couldn't afford to go to the Figure Skating Finals, we picked the Short Track Speed Skating. Woohoo!! Now we wait until December/January-ish to see if our name has been pulled out of the hat (so to speak). We also wanted to go to the Aerial Ski Jumping or that tricksy snowboarding but the thought of driving up the mountain, in February WITH snow and ice was not on our list of "Things to experience" in life. We'll be MUCH, MUCH warmer watching those events at home.

Thinking positive thoughts and keeping my fingers crossed for you!
Wow, you go girl! I'm amazed that you're so on the ball to get your tickets. I guess if we're in Vancouver for the 2010 Olympics, it will be to watch them in my parents living room and maybe run downtown to feel the excitement in the air. Good luck! Keep us posted!
I remember feeling the same way when the Olympics were in Salt Lake City. They were so close but tickets were SO expensive and SO difficult to obtain. It was still really fun to attend some of the public ceremonies (torch, etc) and walk around downtown where the medal plaza, etc was. That was really cool. We also attended some practice sessions which were very inexpensive when compared to the actual events. It was a neat time.
I'm so jealous! My parents want to get as far away from the the Olympics as possible. At one time they did talk of coming down to Florida for two weeks to avoid the craziness and traffic. I would have had figure skating finals for my first pick too.
