A Rite of Passage

SHAVING

Can you please tell me when did my little boy grow up? And boy, he was getting a bit furry too. David was not too thrilled having to shave. I think it must be "manly" to have your friends tell you that you need to shave.

So here we go!!

Lather up

Dad teaching the fine points of using a razor. You know "put you finger here and you WILL cut yourself" kind of stuff.

Someone looks a bit hesitant

Navigating the chin and the upper lip

Trying it for himself

You can see a bit of his "furries"

And this one just surprised me at how much he looks like his big brother

Boy!! We're feeling old!!

Vashti is AMAZING!!!!

If you don't know Vashti, so sad for you!! All I did was make a comment to her of "how do I get one of those?" And look what she made happen!!!

We got our very own service banner to hang in our window!! What is the meaning of The Blue Star Service Banner you ask?

"A Blue Star Service Banner displayed int he window of a home is an American tradition. This banner lets other know someone in the home is proudly serving in the U.S. Armed Forces including the National Guard and Reserves foa ll military departments. As Americans do their best to support the ongoing war on terror, the Blue Service Banner tradition reminds us that war touches every neighborhood in our land".

Once I find the perfect hanging spot I'll take a picture and show you.

It also came with a beautiful Certificate of Honor

THANK YOU VASHTI!! And THANK YOU Ferndale American Legion Post 154.

Rick Springfield Concert (picture and video heavy)

Ok, to be honest with you, originally Rob and I had little interest in going to this concert. We thought we only knew 2 or 3 songs at best, so didn't want to spend our money. My good friend, Leslie "had some tickets for us" and wanted to know if we wanted to come. She just told us they were "on the floor, in the chairs". So we said "why not, it will be a fun date". Little did we know where these seats were. We're talking FRONT ROW CENTER, SEAT 3 AND 4!!!!! WOW!!!

The perspective from our seats without the camera zooming in.

"I've Done Everything for You"

He takes a bouquet of roses and strums then on his guitar spraying the petals everywhere!!

We sang Happy Birthday to him as his birthday is Monday, 8/23. Any idea how old he is? Well, we were stunned! He is going to be 61 years old!! Yes!! 61!!! We should all look so good at 61, yes?!

This is blurry because he was right in front of Rob, moving fast.
That's Rob's head. Rick Springfield is telling Rob to move over so he can stand on his chair. All the while balancing himself on Rob's shoulder.

One foot (the right) on Rob's chair and the other one on the chair next to him

Playing his guitar solo

He went out in the audience to have people help him sing "Don't Talk to Strangers"

This was one of the sweetest boys that sang. Love that this moment was captured.

Then he found this sweet little thing and brought her up on stage

Telling him she needs his help because she doesn't know the words

And she sure did a wonderful job and captured everyone's hearts in the process.

Jessie's Girl

During the encore rockin' that guitar

After the concert our dear friend, Leslie had us "stay close to her" and the next thing we knew we were in line to head backstage for the "meet and greet". Unfortunately, NO pictures, NO autographs, etc. were allowed. It was a quick come in, say HI, pose with him for the professional photographer (we'll see how much those cost) and out we were shuffled.

It was more than we had anticipated or even hoped for. And yes, we owe Leslie BIG time!!!

Got Boys?

Ok, so Kaitlyn, your comment made me say "she doesn't have boys....YET" ;D And made me think, what other crazy photos do I have of my boys that are wacky?

Voila!! How's this one?

Very "boy"

He learned from the BEST ~ his big brother

Ummm, yeah!

Our rocker cow

Even Rob gets in the action

I wish I could post the BEST, most embarrassing photo of Rob. But I am under strict "stink eye" looks that if I EVER show it, I will "pay dearly". Let's just say that Rob makes a good looking woman ;D

And if you think it stops at the boys, well, let me show you differently

Of course, when you get them ALL together ~ watch out!!

I LOVE MY FAMILY!!!!
